For Engineers

We Speak Engineering. Let's Talk.

We're ready to talk specs, test data, and validated performance numbers. No sales fluff or chasing someone down for a data sheet.

O-Flex manufacturing floor

If you’re evaluating components for a program, you need more than a product description. You need validated performance data, certified test results, bend radius specs, material properties, and the confidence that what we’re telling you will hold up under a battery of real-world conditions.

That’s exactly what we’re built to deliver. Learn more about what the numbers say below.

Impact Management

What the Numbers Say

The O-EA Energy Absorbing Tube is a government-regulated safety product. FMVSS 201 and 214 are the industry standards, and we consistently exceed them. Our product has been the preferred solution for front and side impact protection across vehicle platforms for over 25 years, validated through HIC-d testing and a full battery of performance tests including:

One thing worth noting: our energy-absorbing tube gets stronger under compression. Progressive energy absorption throughout the full deformation cycle — not a spike and collapse. For engineers designing to tight crush zones or unusual packaging constraints.

Thermal Management

Resistance Specs That Hold

Our thermal tube products are engineered to resist heat and friction in the most demanding underhood and powertrain environments. Capability sheets include the specific resistance numbers you need to evaluate suitability for your application, like reflectivity ratings, temperature thresholds, and sleeve diameter range.

If you're spec'ing for engine compartment routing, exhaust adjacency, or auxiliary heating units in passenger or utility vehicles, we have what you need.

Fabrication & Engineered Tube

Process Parameters

For tube fabrication and engineered tube programs, here's what our process supports:

  • CNC bending with dedicated and multi-radius capability
  • End forming: ball-nose, end-flare, and custom profiles
  • Tight bend radius capability across aluminum and steel stock
  • 100% profile checking and CMM best-fit analysis on every program
  • Cutting to length, chamfering, punching, pressing, brazing, welding, assembly

Materials

Our tube products use recyclable aluminum. No foam, no plastic. For programs with sustainability requirements or OEM environmental compliance targets, we can provide material end-of-life documentation through the international Material Data System.

Our team lives in this stuff.
